According to Spanish media reports, Cardozo’s recovery could take anywhere from three to six months. As a result, the player is likely to miss the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico from June 11 to July 19. The U.S. national team is scheduled to face Turkey, Paraguay, and Australia in the group stage.
