Javier Tebas, president of La Liga, has responded to the accusations made by Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez.
During a press conference on Tuesday, Pérez fired shots in multiple directions, with one of them aimed directly at the Spanish league’s governing body.
“In the press conference, Pérez said, ‘The ABC newspaper belongs to the Vocento group. They founded the platform “Relevo,” and you all know what that was about, right? In collaboration with La Liga, it devoted itself to creating a digital newspaper that lost, in short, 25 million euros throughout its existence,'” Tebas recounted.
He added, “When the league stopped funding them, they went to Telefónica and Telécnico looking for someone to pay them. Their only goal was to attack Real Madrid and its president.”
When asked for his reaction to Pérez’s statements, Tebas said during an event in Santander that he did not pay 25 million euros to “Relevo” to attack the Real Madrid president.

“That is not true. Sometimes he mentions a number and then changes it. He even took it to the Supreme Sports Council. This is a complete lie and an exaggeration. They live on playing the victim and lying. With all the commercial reputation Pérez has and what he has done for Real Madrid, it’s a shame what is happening,” Tebas explained, as highlighted by AS.
“I am a Real Madrid fan, but I am currently in a state of hibernation. I feel sad for the club. You cannot keep lying permanently,” he added.
Regarding the call for elections and Pérez’s desire not to resign, Tebas simply said, “That must be respected. Every leader knows what they are doing with their club.”
